JioFiber runs fibre into your flat and terminates at an ONT/router box. The optical line itself is usually excellent — when results disappoint, the last five metres (Wi-Fi, old routers, crowded bands) are almost always the culprit.
Your plan is a ceiling, Wi-Fi is the reality
A 300 Mbps plan over 5 GHz in the same room should read close to 300 in this test. Through two walls on 2.4 GHz, 80–150 Mbps is ordinary. Neither result is “wrong” — they measure different links. Test both to find where the drop happens.
Upload depends on your plan

Wi-Fi is eating your plan speed
The most common JioFiber complaint isn’t the line — it’s distance, walls and the 2.4 GHz band. People pay for 300 Mbps and test at 60 Mbps from the far bedroom.
Correctif — Run this test twice: once laptop-plugged-into-the-ONT-router with ethernet, once on Wi-Fi where you normally sit. The gap between the two numbers is your Wi-Fi problem — fix with 5 GHz, placement, or mesh, not a support call.
Bufferbloat: lag while someone downloads
Budget routers cope poorly when a fibre line is saturated — your ping can balloon by 100–300 ms the moment someone starts a big download, which is exactly when a game or call stutters.
Correctif — Watch the “Under load” tile: +10 ms is great, +200 ms means bufferbloat. If your router offers SQM/fq_codel or QoS, enable it; if not, a router that supports it (or scheduled download hours) fixes ranked-night clashes.
CGNAT and strict NAT for hosting
JioFiber may place you behind carrier-grade NAT depending on plan and region — strict NAT in games, broken remote access to your NAS or cameras, no inbound ports.
Correctif — Compare your router’s WAN IP with the IP shown in this test’s results. They differ → you’re behind CGNAT; ask Jio about public/static IP options if you host, or rely on relay-based services that don’t need ports.

How accurate is this JioFiber speed test?
It saturates your line with multiple parallel streams against the nearest Cloudflare edge, measures upload separately, and discards connection warm-up — putting results within roughly ±5–10% of real line speed. For the cleanest reading, plug in via ethernet and close other downloads first.
Why is my JioFiber speed slow on Wi-Fi but fine on my phone?
Almost always band and walls. 2.4 GHz reaches further but caps low; 5 GHz is fast but attenuates through concrete. Test this page near the router on 5 GHz, then at your usual spot — if only the far spot drops, add a mesh node or move the router, not your plan.
Why is my JioFiber upload speed lower than download?
Check what your plan promises for upload first — it is plan-specific on many JioFiber tiers. If the plan says symmetric and this test shows upload far below download over ethernet, note both numbers (with time of day) for a support ticket; they’re exactly what the engineer will ask for.

What is bufferbloat and how do I fix it on JioFiber?
Bufferbloat is latency that spikes when your pipe is full — routers with oversized buffers queue packets instead of dropping them, so your ping climbs during downloads. The “Under load” tile measures it here. Fixes: enable SQM/fq_codel if your router supports it, use QoS rate limits slightly below your plan speed, or upgrade the router on high-speed tiers.
